Spacious villa with characteristic details only 2 km from the town of Camporgiano

Originally an old barn beautifully restored with great care and views over the small villages in the Garfagnana valley

Beautifully restored stone house on two levels with wonderful views to the mountains and some of the small villages in the Garfagnana valley. The house is originally an old barn, renovated with great care and respect for the old traditions. Ground floor: Entrance hall/hallway, three bedrooms, one of which has its own bathroom, technology/ laundry room and another bathroom First floor: Large open environment with fully equipped kitchen/dining room/ living room with fireplace and with access to the large veranda with dining area and living area. The porch also has the most beautiful views. There is a lot of flat land laid out as a garden, which would be perfect for building a pool. The pool will of course need permission from the municipality to build. On the plot there is also forest and a landscaped bed with lots of berries. The forest provides firewood for the fireplace. Camporgiano has a cozy piazza, shops, bars / cafes, restaurants and train station with connections to Lucca and Pisa in the south and Aulla in the north. The city’s old castle is a popular tourist attraction. The municipality of Camporgiano is located an hour’s drive from Lucca and a 15 minute drive from the largest town in the Serchio Valley, Castelnuovo. The Apuan and Apennine mountain ranges form the framework of this lush valley. The fortress of Camporgiano dominates the city. It was built in the 14th century and rebuilt several times in the following centuries. It has always been the seat of government commissioners from various supreme duchies. The fortress has the shape of an irregular square, with two strong cylindrical towers in the corners. It is now private property and still has significant traces of the original medieval structure. From Camporgiano there are plenty of excursion destinations: hiking trails that can be explored on foot, on horseback or by mountain bike. The Garfagnana valley is rightly famous for its prosciutto, pork, pecorino cheese, honey and genuine Tuscan atmosphere
